Carol Messer
Carol's title for this exhibition, "For Those
Who Love the World", is the English dedication used by Pierre Teilhard de Chardin in his influential book, The Divine Milieu. It is often paired with the Latin phrase "Sic Deus dilexit mundum" (Thus God loved the world), reflecting his focus on finding the divine within the material world.
Teilhard also wrote in the book: "Throughout my life, by means of my life, the world has little by little caught fire in my sight until, aflame all a-round me, it has become almost luminous from within ... " (ASV gallery directly connects to this idea and the theme of Carol's show of photographs.)
